Whitini Thomas’ “Colors” poem perfectly captures the tension that many of us who have grown up cross culturally feel and experience even well into our adulthood. It breaks it down in a very simplistic yet powerful way.

“When I am in the Blue land, I want to be Yellow. When I am in the Yellow land, I want to be Blue. Why can’t I be both? I just want to be Green.”

The Bright Green Project exists for those of us who are green; caught between two or three or MORE “lands” that all in some way have come to define who we are. We want to discover the good things our unique life experiences have given us because we aren’t content just being green . . . we want to be BRIGHT Green.
